ACHIEVEMENTS
Re-incorporated the Collin County Foster Parents Association as a non-profit, charitable organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3) in 1990 after the association had lost corporate status. Served as the initial President of the Non-profit organization. Creating the non-profit corporation served the Foster Parents of Collin County who receive children placed with them through Court proceedings by providing tax deductible status for donors, organizing fundraising events, and organizing services available to the Foster Parents. The organization hosted the annual Texas State Foster Parents Association Convention in 1992. The annual convention provided a spotlight on the Collin County Foster Parents Association and provided a beneficial example to all other foster parent associations in the State of Texas, which were by and large associations without non-profit corporate status relying primarily on the State Association for assistance. The Association continues to serve Collin County today.
Incorporated and created the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Collin County Texas, a non-profit, charitable organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3) in 1991. Served as an initial Director on the Board of Directors. Creating the non-profit corporation served the children of Collin County who were involved in legal proceedings by appointing an advocate to serve the interests of the children in the litigation. Presently affiliated with Texas CASA and the National CASA Association, the organization continues to be instrumental in serving Judges, Parties, and Children involved in litigation matters.
